The SFIHHDF is held at the historic Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco, located at 3301 Lyon Street.
The Palace of Fine Arts provides a beautiful setting for this internationally recognized hip hop dance festival, bringing extraordinary dance companies from around the world to San Francisco.
Is there parking at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre?
Yes. There is parking available near the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, but parking spaces are limited and can fill quickly.
We recommend arriving early and allowing extra time to find parking before the performance. Public transportation and rideshare services are also options for getting to the festival.
What is included with my SFIHHDF ticket?
Your ticket gives you access to an extraordinary live performance featuring world-class hip hop and street dance companies.
Depending on the performance you attend, SFIHHDF also offers special audience experiences, including:
Saturday evening: Following the performance, audience members are invited to participate in a Soul Train-style freestyle dance contest onstage, with cash prizes.
Sunday matinee: Kids ages 13 and under are invited onstage for a freestyle dance session.
Sunday evening: Following the 5:00 PM performance, audience members are invited to the lobby for a special SFIHHDF closing celebration featuring bites, drinks, a DJ, awards, live performance, and an opportunity to meet the SFIHHDF artists.
These special experiences are part of what makes the San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest more than a traditional theater performance.
Is the San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest a dance competition?
No. SFIHHDF is not a competition.
The San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest is a curated performing arts festival that celebrates the artistry, history, innovation, and evolution of hip hop dance.
Dance companies and artists apply to perform through the SFIHHDF submission process. Each year, Artistic Director Micaya reviews submissions and curates a p Bay Area, across the United States, and 0ooooaooooooround the world.

The San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest is presented by Micaya Presents, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
More than half of SFIHHDF's funding comes from grants, foundations, corporate support, individual donors, and community supporters. This support helps make it possible for SFIHHDF to present world-class artists and provide the professional support they deserve.

Do performers have to pay to perform at SFIHHDF?
Absolutely not.
SFIHHDF believes in respecting and supporting professional dance artists.
For selected artists and companies traveling from outside the Bay Area, the festival provides airfare, lodging, meals, and ground transportation. This commitment allows artists to focus on their work and ensures that they are treated as the professionals they are.
Can I buy SFIHHDF tickets at the door?
Yes, tickets may be available at the door on the day of the performance if the show is not sold out.
Because some performances may reach capacity, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
Is SFIHHDF appropriate for children?
Yes. All ages are welcome at the San Francisco International Hip Hop DanceFest.
